The CHATEAU MONTROSE 2012 is a lauded low-impact Bordeaux wine produced with superior terroir and care. The estate has been improving its biodiversity and energy use for over 15 years, with all CO2 from fermentation captured and reused. Their purchase of 22ha bordering Ch. Phélan-Ségur has further enriched the wine, with 2/3 Merlot and 1/3 Cabernet Sauvignon contributing to its noted finesse.
Sommelier's Notes
Region : Bordeaux , France
Variety : Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot
Tasting Notes : The wine is a deep, dazzling purple. Initially rather closed, the nose opens with airing to reveal elegant fresh fruit, blackcurrant bud and eucalyptus aromas. A fresh, clean attack leads into a full, powerful and silky mid-palate, building to an incredibly long finish on notes of brioche and liquorice.
